You must do this to make progress
The equation for growth and adaptation goes as follows;
stress/stimulus + recovery = adaptation
We need to lift heavy enough weight/provide significant enough stress to muscles to give them reason grow/get stronger.
Once we've done this, we need to make sure we recover with adequate sleep and effective nutrition. Only then, will we adapt to the stress.
Now we've adapted to that stress we need to provide our muscles with something they need to recover from. This is progressive overload.
A little more weight mont to month or a few more reps week to week is what keeps us making progress. So be sure that your workouts and training program has this built in.
Stay tuned for more info on this in the next few weeks.
