How to stick to your training program when you’re traveling

The way we see it, when you travel for work you’ve got 3 training options

  1. Train at a different gym and appreciate that there may be a convenience trade off.

  2. Pre/post load your training and appreciate that there may be a performance/fatigue trade off.

  3. Skip training and pick up when you return but appreciate that there will be a progress trade off.

Training and traveling

There will ALWAYS be trade offs.

Life is full of them and we just figure out how to make it work.

There are lots of areas in life where you are already figuring it out. Your training, nutrition, and physique goals don’t need to be any different. Maybe you get a babysitter to attend an important event, perhaps have the groceries delivered so that you can take the kids to sports practice, and you might even put the utility bills in auto-pay to save you time 1 Sunday per month.

Maybe we’d prefer to do it all perfectly but we can’t. So commit to being the kind of guy that figures it out.

WHAT KIND OF GUY ARE YOU?

In our experience, it usually takes only a few moments to shift from the kind of guy that throws in the towel to the kind of guy that is committed to figuring it out. In those moments, it takes a different action.

Figure it out enough times, even when it doesn’t pan out perfectly, and you build evidence that you are this kind of guy. All it takes is a few moments of bucking the trend to make a new trend that works better for you.

If you are ready to commit to figuring it out then we are here to help.
