My Mantra For Success

What would our life look like if we accepted failure as an essential part of the process?

I think about the concept of “trial and error” an ungodly amount, mainly because I think it is the way we achieve long term success. In fact, it’s a key mantra for success in my personal and career pursuits.

By accepting error as a necessary part of the process, we figure out what doesn’t work. We only fail if we stop the trial part. We must pick a skill, run it, assess it, review it, and then either improve on it or change it.

A great metaphor for this concept is the popular kids board game, Guess Who?

Each player starts with 21 potential answers as to which person their opponent is holding.

Only by asking a series of well thought through questions do we narrow down our options before we get to our desired results.

Don’t get me wrong, you can ask bad questions or questions that are duplicative. You can think of these in regards to your health, fitness, and physique efforts as repeatedly engaging in the same crash diet methodology that saw you yo-yo lose/gain 20lbs last time.

You need to make sure that you’re asking calculated and well designed questions to get to your desired outcome in as few moves and with as few missteps as possible to win this game.

The same goes for your health, fitness, and physique efforts. You need to make sure you’re calculated about your efforts and are following a well thought out, science backed, and personally specific plan, then you’re going to increase the likelihood that you win.

When you work with me inside builtxyou, you’ll work 1-on-1 with me to build a training, nutrition, and recovery plan that is custom designed for your goals, needs, and lifestyle demands.

Then, you’ll be supported and coached in how best to take action on this plan for best results.

That’s not to say you won’t make errors or fail in the process - in fact, we expect it, only by running this system can we continue to refine and build it in a way that works life a well oiled machine so that you can lose up to 40lbs of body fat, gain up to 5lbs of muscle in 16 weeks, and build a body you’re confident in and proud of for the rest of your life.
