The first keystone habit

At 2.5 weeks in, many guys in the builtXyou™ Transformation Program have realized that if they are active first thing in the morning, before their family wakes, before their calendar dings and phone rings, they have a better day all round.

Here are some of the reasons guys have said they workout in the morning;

  • “It’s good to see other people like me doing it then too. Makes me feel supported.”

  • “If I do it before the kids wake up, I don’t get anxious that I’m missing time with them.”

  • “If I start my day that way, I’m already awake and energetic by the time my first call happens.”

  • “Nobody can interrupt me if they’re all asleep. This is my time and that feels great.”

  • “I have a hard deadline of getting to work on time which makes my workouts efficient.”

  • “I’m not a morning person, but walking early gives me time to wake up slowly which really helps.”

  • “Once it’s done, I feel accomplished and just more confident. I have more spark at work”.

  • “I sleep better when I’m tired from a workout AND it makes getting to bed easier when I know I’ll be up to workout.”

These are just some of the things the guys in builtXyou™ have said to me about working out or being active in the mornings.

Let me be clear, it’s not a requirement to train in the morning. Far from it. Some guys have equally compelling reasons for their training in the evenings. This is simply a story to highlight that, if you, like most guys in the program, find yourself running out of time, energy, desire, or all 3, when you try and train in the evenings, then their is a stack of undeniable evidence that working out in the mornings works well for guys like you.

Side bar; This realization would never have come up for guys in the program had they never taken the initial action and joined. That's the thing about action, there is always a knock on reaction to come with it, and once we take that first step, it becomes easier to take the next 100.
