Not everyTHING on the internet is for everyONE

My experience as a nutrition coach tells me that though the principles haven’t changed, the environmental and personal demands each person has are WILDLY different and highly demanding. This is why we have such conflicting information around "good nutrition", why we struggle to make efficient food choices, and why we struggle to hit our nutrition-based goals. Not understanding, but making the knowledge we have match our environment.

Blindly following methods without considering the individual environment and person IS THE NUMBER 1 REASON why people (I and you included) fail at hitting their nutrition-related goals.

Every mainstream popularized diet out there touts rules and extremes. From cutting out food group Y to saying the ONLY thing that matters is calculating X.

Every time a new fad diet comes to the forefront it takes on the same extreme shape.

Methods only, without considering the person or the environment.

The boring and simple truth is, many methods can work providing they abide by the scientific principles of nutrition science.

It comes down to finding which combination of methods fits best in your lifestyle, with your personal and environmental demands.

Ignoring this all but guarantees failure and is why we are so disenchanted as a population with diet culture.

TL;DR - Please don’t worry about following X diet or Y regime. Consider your environment and lifestyle demands far more than you consider the rules diets place on you.
